Few thinkers in history have attempted to reframe the Western philosophical tradition with such boldness as Dutch neo-Calvinist juridical scholar and philosopher Herman Dooyeweerd (1894–1977). Dooyeweerd's work continues to have a significant impact on scholars in a variety of fields, is a guiding inspiration behind a philosophical tradition known as Reformational Philosophy (embodied in the journal Philosophia Reformata), and remains a seminal influence at institutions such as the Free University of Amsterdam, the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto, the Abraham Kuyper Center for Public Theology at Princeton, the Dooyeweerd Center at Redeemer University College, the Cardus think tank in Hamilton, Ontario, and the Center for Public Justice in Washington, D.C.
